The song is called "If Ever", and the premiere of the video is an occasion for the band to draw our attention to the award received by the band in September in the competition of the John Lennon Foundation.
X-R@Y unites Veselin Kirev – vocals, Nikolay Nikolov – guitar and Nikolay Dimitrov – guitar, who created the band at the end of 2006. “X-rays penetrate to the deepest corners of matter. We want the music we create to have the same ability," they share on their website.
Later, the trio was joined by Mariyan Zhivkov - drums. In 2017, the musicians participated in the StreetMusic Festival in Satu Mare - Romania and won the second prize. Their first solo album is called O.K., released in 2019, and the songs in it combine pop, rock, blues, world, funk, reggae and Bulgarian folk motifs. In the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, created in memory of the great musician, the jury evaluates originality, melody, composition, lyrics, as recorded in the conditions of participation. The winner of the World Music category, in which the group X-R@Yа is awarded, is the Iraqi artist Agreen Dilshad, and the other two runners-up, together with the Bulgarian artists, are from Japan and India.
The lyrics of the song "If ever" are in Bulgarian. The recording also features piper Martin Lyamov from the Philip Koutev National Folklore Ensemble and bass player Miroslav Gaidarski.
In addition to promotion on all platforms of the John Lennon Foundation, part of the prize is various types of music software and hardware that will be used in their next projects, the artists say.
I am not the wind,
which is drifting
with a gentle jingle
and a golden vest
I'm not a superhero, out there
I don’t know magic
here I’m alone
and I'm just human
if you ever wake up in the dark
and you feel tears,
know that someone is waiting for you
if ever you …
if ever you …
if ever you …
I'm not spring rain
in a dream
I don't have strong wings
with which someone else
would take you away
I don't know
how to stop the time
I don't tear down walls
I don’t heal tears,
but I'm still here
If ever you, cannot reach to the dreams
the phone rings, but no one picks it up
if ever you …
if ever you …
if ever you …
If you never trust anyone
I'm here, remember, just call me
if ever ever ever you …
I'm not a song – ringing bell,
No miracles,
but I'm next to you
here right now.
