Inflation in Bulgaria slows down

Photo: BNR

A slow-down in inflation in Bulgaria has been observed for the first time in recent months. In October it was 17.6% year-on-year, while a month earlier it was close to 19%.
The National Statistical Institute pointed to cheaper natural gas and motor fuels as the reason. However, basic food products continued to rise in price. In groceries, pepper has risen by over 9%, whole milk by 7.6%, in non-food items shoes have risen by almost 9% and clothes by 6% in a month.
