First group of Bulgarian researchers sets off for Antarctica

The main group of the 31st Bulgarian Antarctic Expedition departed from Sofia Airport. The polar researchers will prepare the Bulgarian Antarctic base on Livingstone Island. The first group consists of Konstantin Nedev- mechanic, Dr. Atanas Peltekov- commander of the Bulgarian Antarctis base St. Kliment Ohridski, logistician Kamen Nedkov, Engineer Peter Sapundzhiev, geographer Dr. Temenuzhka Spasova, seismologist Dr. Gergana Georgieva, dermatologist Dr. Ivan Bogdanov, logistician Petar Trizlintsev, radiologist Viktoria Nedyalkova and biologist Atilla Markov.

The Bulgarian military research ship "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" will set sail for its first mission to Antarctica.
