Caretaker Prime Minister Gulub Donev will hold a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Milkov and Minister of Justice Krum Zarkov on December 5. They will review the actions of the caretaker government to defend Bulgaria's readiness to join the Schengen area, the cabinet said.
On 8 December, the EU Justice and Home Affairs Council will vote on two separate decisions on Schengen enlargement. One will be for the admission of Bulgaria and Romania and the other - for Croatia. Unanimity is needed for approval. The Netherlands opposed Bulgaria, which provoked strong reactions in the country.
