The Consulate General of Bulgaria in Los Angeles has received no reports of Bulgarian citizens injured or in distress in the flooded areas. Late on Saturday, US President Joe Biden declared a major disaster in California after a series of storm systems caused death and destruction in the state.

Bulgarian Foreign Ministry is advising citizens to avoid travel in the area for the next few days and to follow the instructions and recommendations of local authorities.

If Bulgarian citizens need assistance, they can contact the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Los Angeles at +1 310 478 6700 and the after-hours hotline at +1 310 437 3606. They can also send alerts to the following email address: Consulate.LosAngeles@mfa.bg
