Defence Minister: I don't see why the SU-25 issue is being raised again

Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov said that the publications that Bulgaria provided combat aircraft to Ukraine through third parties were an insinuation.

"In the period 2005-2012, 20 units were sold to 4 companies. One of the deals was for SU-25 combat aircraft and two were exported to Georgia. Speaking specifically about the conflict in Ukraine, I confirm that over the past 10 years the Ministry of Defence has not sold aircraft to anyone to be exported anywhere. I do not understand why this subject has come up twice in perhaps eight or ten months.

The very first time, the then minister Dragomir Zakov denied the sale of SU-25s to NATO member states to be subsequently transported to Ukraine," Stoyanov said.
