Monument to Cyrillic alphabet to be erected in Los Angeles

A monument to the Cyrillic alphabet is to be erected in Los Angeles, a project which brings together the efforts of the Bulgarian Arts, Culture and Education Foundation, the Bulgarian Consulate General in Los Angeles and the author of the sculpture Broni Likomanov, Elka Ruskov, honorary consul of Bulgaria in Seattle said for the Bulgarian news agency BTA.

The sculpture depicts the hand of an enlightener holding a book in the process of being transformed into a bird. Below the hand are the letters А, Б, В and Г, Broni Likomanov says. He graduated art design at the High School of Applied Arts and took his BA of animation filmmaking from the National Academy of Theatre and Film Art in Sofia. He lives in California and works as artist and animator for companies like Disney, Universal, Klasky Csupo and Nickelodeon.
