On the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the birth of the world-famous jazz musician and composer Milcho Leviev, who passed away some time ago, a central alley on the famous Sahat Tepe hill in Plovdiv will be named after him.

The local administration has designated the space around the fountain on the same hill to become a small stage for outdoor concerts, with the addition of adequate lighting. It will attract jazz lovers and become a new landmark for the city.

Space will also be allocated for a monument to the legendary Bulgarian jazzman. The original idea was to depict Milcho Leviev as a life-size seated figure playing the piano. Plovdiv sculptors will be invited to participate in a competition in which a committee will choose which artist will recreate for the descendants the spirit and memory of the famous jazzman.
