The Greek police detained a Bulgarian wanted by the US for the illegal sale of American high-tech components for military purposes in Russia. The Bulgarian citizen is in a prison near Thessaloniki as he is wanted for "fraud against the U.S. government", BNR correspondent in Greece, Katia Peeva, reports.
For 5 years the detainee had been buying microchips from USA, which he then sold to Russia through his company in Bulgaria, despite the sanctions. Just one of the shipments to Bulgaria was worth 1.7 million dollars. For security reasons, the name of the arrested person and the Bulgarian company are not disclosed.
