Exhibition presents “80 years since the rescue of the Bulgarian Jews”

At the Saints Cyril and Methodius national library, President Rumen Radev is to open a documentary exhibition “80 years since the rescue of the Bulgarian Jews”.

Renowned historian and prominent public figure from Israel Prof. Michael Bar-Zohar will be honorary guest at the event.

The exhibition features exhibits from the national library’s fund as well as the awards bestowed posthumously on Tsar Boris III by international Jewish organizations, among them the World Jewish Congress and the Anti-Defamation League.

At 12.15 PM wreathes will be laid at the memorial plaques in memory of the people who rescued the Jews of Bulgaria, next to the St. Sophia church.

The events from the programme commemorating the 80th anniversary of the rescue of the Bulgarian Jews during World War II are under the patronage of President Rumen Radev.
