Sofia International Film Festival embraces the "green idea"

The 27th edition of Sofia Film Fest will open tonight with the documentary The Forest Makerby the legendary German filmmaker Volker Schlöndorff, Oscar and Palme d'Or winner at Cannes. He will be welcomed on a green carpet, as this year the festival embraces the green idea. Volker Schlöndorff will also plant the first tree in the Sofia Film Fest forest. 

Legendary actress Geraldine Chaplin will be one of the special guests of the Sofia Film Fest and will receive the Sofia Award of the Sofia Municipality. Bulgarian cinematographer, director and screenwriter Radoslav Spasov will also receive the Sofia Municipality Award on the occasion of his 80th birth anniversary.
