All mobile phones which will stream and record from the polling stations at the early election for parliament on 2 April have been handed over to the Information Services company.

The devices are being checked for adequate installation of the software, and whether the battery will last for more than 8 and a half hours of video streaming and recording. The platform which will be used to monitor the counting of the ballots live is secure and protected, said Information Services CEO Ivaylo Filipov. According to data from mobile operators, there is insufficient internet coverage in around 15% of the polling stations with video surveillance, but efforts are being made to remedy that. In polling stations where there will be no streaming, the devices will only record, after which the videos will be uploaded to the platform.
