Western countries provide Ukraine with new military aid package

Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced that a number of Western countries are providing Ukraine with new military aid packages. Ukraine’s President made this announcement after the Ramstein-format meeting. The aid includes ammunition, tanks and artillery. Canadian military instructors, together with Polish and Norwegian military personnel, are training Ukrainian soldiers in Poland to operate Leopard tanks, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported. 

Russia has launched 11 missile and 16 air strikes in the past 24 hours. Four of the attacks were on civilian infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia, UNIAN reported. Intense fighting is taking place along the Bakhmut-Avdiivka line. Russian President Vladimir Putin has paid a working visit to Mariupol. It was the Russian president’s first-ever visit to Donbass, TASS repored. Putin travelled to Mariupol in a helicopter. He drove a vehicle along the city's streets, making stops at several locations. Earlier, he visited the Crimea to mark the 9th anniversary of Russia’s annexation of the peninsula from Ukraine.

According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 9 Russian warships, including 2 missile carriers, have been located in the Black Sea. Turkiye’s President Recep Erdogan announced that the deal allowing the safe black Sea export of Ukrainian grain had been extended for 60 days, the Turkish Radio and Television reported. "This deal is of vital importance for the global food supply”, Recep Erdogan noted.
