"Bulgarian weapons will reach Ukraine, but not directly", former Deputy Minister of Defense Yordan Bozhilov said for BNT. "Bulgaria has one of the largest arsenals of old Soviet-type weapons and ammunition. The current phase of the war in Ukraine requires a huge amount of ammunition, especially Soviet-type ammunition, and Bulgaria is probably the only country in Europe that can deliver it immediately", Yordan Bozhilov added. "We saw that the government adopted several acts that will enable the Ministry of Defence to provide VMZ-Sopot with a certain amount of ammunition of the calibres that are most needed and it is clear to everyone that this ammunition will not remain in VMZ-Sopot, but will be resold and reach Ukraine" the former Deputy Defence Minister said.

"The old Bulgarian weaponry is probably going to Ukraine. It might be sold through intermediaries", former Defence Minister Boyko Noev said for bTV.
