Kiril Petkov, co-chairman of the We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria coalition stated, in an interview with bTV, that he expects the process of electing a president of the National Assembly to be completed next week.

In his words, GERB/SDS and the coalition are to nominate working groups on 13 April, which will discuss the legislative aspect of the negotiations. The groups will continue their work throughout the Easter holidays so as to draft the priorities for the first two months of the 49th National Assembly. Only after they have done that can a president of parliament be elected.

Talking to public service TV BNR Kiril Petkov explained that at the moment We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria are only discussing “a common legislative programme.” The comment came in answer to a question whether accord can be reached in parliament for the formation of a government.
