In the past 3 months, the income needed to support 1 person has grown by 3.1%. On an annual basis the rise is 14.6%, according to the monitoring on consumer prices and wages by the CITUB trade union. The sum needed to support a working person living alone increases by 89 euros, and for a family of three by 160 euros. The net monthly income needed by a single person is EUR 697; for a family of three it is EUR 1,254. The inflation rate for essential goods reaches 25 percent and wages in the state budget have lost 6% of their purchasing power since the beginning of 2023.

2/3 of working people do not receive the money they need to live normally, CITUB economist Luboslav Kostov said. According to CITUB calculations, the minimum monthly wage should be 650 euros, not 390.
