Russian court orders arrest of Bulgarian journalist Christo Grozev in absentia

A Moscow regional court (the Lefortovo Court) has ordered the arrest, in absentia, of Bulgarian journalist from the investigative website Bellingcat Christo Grozev.

According to the Russian news agency TASS, Grozev allegedly organized the illegal crossing of the Russian border and departure from the Russian Federation by Roman Dobrokhotov from The Insider, declared a “foreign agent” by the Russian authorities. The court has ruled that Grozev be remanded in custody for a period of two months which shall start as of the moment of his extradition to Russia, i.e. from the moment of his entry into the territory of the Russian Federation and his being handed over to the Russian authorities, or from the moment of his detention on the territory of Russia.
