Bulgaria strongly condemns the violence against the NATO peacekeeping force in Kosovo (KFOR) and expresses full solidarity with the wounded servicemen, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry wrote on Twitter. We call on all parties to de-escalate. The implementation of the EU-brokered agreements remains the only way forward. KFOR is carrying out tasks to ensure order and security in the area of northern Kosovo, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244. Currently, up to 35 Bulgarian troops are participating in the NATO operation in Kosovo, carrying out tasks related to helping improve security, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry writes further.

NATO will send 700 extra troops to Kosovo and put another battalion on high alert, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said, as quoted by Reuters.
