One Bulgarian employee creates 14.2 euros of GDP per hour worked, statistics show

Gross domestic product per employee in the first quarter of this year grew by 0.3% compared to the first quarter of 2022, NSI data show. For the same quarter, weak growth is observed among the employed in the service sector (60.8% in 2023 vs. 60.2% in 2022), and a slight decline in industry (25.6% vs. 25.7%) and the agricultural sector (13.6% and 14.1%).

Each employee creates an average of BGN 27.8 / EUR 14.20/ GDP per hour worked. The data also show that labor productivity is the lowest in the agricultural sector - 6.3 BGN /3.22 EUR/ .
