In a statement to the media, the Association of Prosecutors in Bulgaria states doubts about the procedure for the early release of the country's prosecutor general Ivan Geshev. According to the prosecutors, the procedure did not give "a clear and convincing answer regarding the reasons for its initiation and the observance of the order of its conducting."

The prosecutors also object to the amendments to the Law on the Judiciary and the Code of Criminal Procedure, affecting the dismissal of the prosecutor general and the election of the members of the Supreme Judicial Council.

With regard to the ideas for constitutional reforms launched in the public space, the prosecutors emphasize that they are "inapplicable proposals completely harmful for the Bulgarian conditions"
