President Rumen Radev called for decisive action against vote-buying and its instigators during a meeting with representatives of the institutions responsible for conducting the elections. Caretaker Minister of Interior Atanas Ilkov, caretaker Minister of Innovation and Growth Rosen Karadimov,  who is coordinating election preparations, representatives of the Central Election Commission, the State Agency for National Security and Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov participated at the meeting with Bulgaria’s head of state.

According to President Radev, there is an abundance of information about vote-buying ahead of the upcoming snap parliamentary elections on October 27, with such alerts even reaching the presidential institution. "Actions related to vote-buying not only discredit the idea of democracy, but also delegitimize the institutions before they are even elected", Pesident Radev said and added that every alert of bought or controlled vote should receive a convincing response.
