Melon Festival in Balgarevo preparations are in full swing

Near Cape Kaliakra, in the Kavarna village of Balgarevo, preparations for the anniversary edition of the Melon Festival are in full swing. For the 15th consecutive year, residents and guests of the village will taste the favorite summer fruit, against the backdrop of a rich cultural program organized by the "Naroden Buditel - 1940" community center.

The official opening is on the evening of 21 July, and the celebration of the aromatic fruit will continue the next evening on 22 July in the schoolyard. The organizers of the community center have set the first day to entertain children with an open stage, a concert of children's vocal groups, melon eating conest, entertainment for children and a discotheque. 

A folklore programme with guest-artists and local singers and dancers is planned for the second day. Winners of the Melon contest in the categories 'Most delicious melon' and 'Best melon picker' will be voted for and awarded. The festive programme will end with a concert given by Izvor orchestra from Dobrich.
