World Rowing Under 23 Championships start in Plovdiv

In the period July 19 to 23, the city of Plovdiv hosts the World Rowing Under 23 Championships for men and women. Three Bulgarian boats have qualified for participation in the championships - Emil Neykov (scull), Ivan Yankulov and Tsvetomir Marinov (men’s pair), Stanislav Grigorov and Ivan Yordanov (lightweight men’s pair ). More than 1,200 rowers from 49 countries will compete in the race in Plovdiv.

"It is a great honor for us to hold such a big competition in Plovdiv and to be participants in an event of such a rank at home," said Emil Neykov, who became world and European champion in 2021, while in 2022 was second in the world championships.
