Sofia expects to join concessions of Greek ports and build oil pipeline to Burgas

Bulgaria wants to have 20% participation in the concessions of the Greek ports in Kavala and Alexandroupoli, Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov said after his return from Athens. In the coming months there would be development on the topic, Denkov said and added that the Bulgarian participation would be through a state company.

It has become clear that Greece wants to reserve storage capacity at the Chiren gas storage facility. Interest in the construction of the new units of the Kozloduy NPP has also been confirmed. Athens may become an investor in the new units, or would conclude long-term contracts for purchasing electricity from the plant, the prime minister added.

The construction of the "Burgas-Alexandroupoli" oil pipeline, which would supply the refinery in Burgas with non-Russian oil, was also discussed. Within a few months, there should be a route and construction should start, the Prime Minister added.
