The monument to the Soviet Army in Sofia should be dismantled and removed from the center of the city - with this request, civil organizations and citizens are protesting in front of the District Administration in Sofia.

Sofia Municipality can now dispose of the monument and the surrounding terrain after the government changed the status of the monument from public to private state property. The decision must come on the proposal of the regional governor of Sofia, in whose administration the property is.
It is not yet clear how much the possible relocation of the monument will cost and in what time frame it will be possible to be carried out.
