The budget of the Bulgarian Naval Forces will be increased in 2024 because of the situation in the Black Sea. With the implementation of modernization projects, the capabilities of the Navy will grow, Defense Minister Todor Tagarev said at a solemn ceremony, dedicated to 144th anniversary of the establishment of the Bulgarian Navy.

The minister recalled that the construction of modular and multi-role patrol ships is underway. The execution of the contracts for the supply of anti-ship missiles, anti-aircraft guided missiles and torpedoes for the new ships also continues.

"The investment program for the modernization of the armed forces will include new projects that are to upgrade the capabilities of the Navy," Minister Tagarev also said.
