Lay people, politicians and public figures flocked to "The Nativity of the Virgin" church in Rila Monastery to attend a liturgy and a memorial service on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the death of Tsar Boris III. His son Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha attended the service. Tsar Boris III was buried in the Rila Monastery, but in 1946 his body was exhumed by order of the communist authorities. Only a glass cylinder with his heart was found. It was reintered in the restored grave of the monarch in the southern chapel of the Rila Monastery's church, BTA reported.
