15-year-old boy has been killed on a pedestrian crossing in Sofia

A 15-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car last night in Sofia, the Ministry of Interior said. The 37-year-old driver ran over and killed the child on a pedestrian crossing in the center of Sofia. The man who had over 2 permille alcohol in his blood was driving at 70 kilometers per hours. Visitors of a nearby restaurant witnessed the accident.

At 6 pm tonight, citizens are to protest at the intersection of General Gurko and Tsar Ivan Shishman streets, where the young man died. A protest has also been scheduled for 6 pm on Monday in front of the Ministry of Interior.

1 person has died and 40 have been injured in 26 serious road accidents on the territory of the country in the past twenty-four hours, BTA reports, referring to the press center of the Ministry of Interior.
