The highest shares of people unable to keep their home adequately warm in the EU in 2022 were registered in Bulgaria, 22.5%, indicate latest Eurostat data for 2022.

In contrast, Finland reported the lowest shares - 1.4%. On average, 9.3% of the EU population declared that they were not able to keep their home adequately warm. According to the trade unions, Bulgaria is bottom of the list of EU countries in this respect because of the low incomes, the high electric energy prices and the low energy efficiency.
