Bulgaria’s Minister of Defense Todor Tagarev responded to the opposition's criticism after the parliament's decision to approve new military aid package for Kyiv. Minister Tagarev explained that Bulgaria had been denied the repair of the S-300 anti-aircraft missiles by the respective Russian company even before the start of the war in Ukraine.

Speaking to NOVA TV, Todor Tagarev said that the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense was ready to implement the National Assembly's decision to send a new aid package to Ukraine. At the same time, the government is to start reviewing the country's defense policy because of the geopolitical situation. The previous review was done in 2019, or before the start of the Russian war in Ukraine.
