Three days to local elections

PP-DB candidate with 8% lead over GERB candidate for Sofia mayor

Three days before Bulgaria goes to the polls for local elections, a survey by Alpha Research shows that the candidate for mayor of Sofia, Vassil Terziev of We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (PP-DB) and Save Sofia, has the largest share of support among those planning to vote on October 29, with GERB candidate Anton Hekimyan and Bulgarian Socialist Party nominee Vanya Grigorova vying for second place.

According to the poll, Terziev has 29. 8% support, Hekimyan 21.1% and Grigorova 20.2%.

Deyan Nikolov, the candidate of the Vazrazhdane party, has 10. 2% and Vili Lilkov, the candidate of the Blue Sofia coalition, has 8.3%, according to the poll. Some 4.5 per cent of respondents said that they were undecided about who to vote for or named another candidate. 

PP-DB and Save Sofia lead the race for Sofia City Council with 33. 2%, followed by GERB-SDS with 22.8%, Vazrazhdane with 12.4% and BSP for Bulgaria with 10.1%. 9.4% of respondents have not yet made up their minds. 

41. 5% are certain to vote in the 29 October elections, 20.9% are undecided and 37.6% will not go to the polls. 

The poll for Sofia was conducted by "Alpha Research" between 21 and 24 October among 800 citizens on behalf of bTV.
