Radio Bulgaria receives recognition from the Union of Bulgarian Writers

Nine poets and writers honoured

On the occasion of the National Awakeners Day on November 1, the Union of Bulgarian Writers - the oldest writers' organisation in Europe - awarded diplomas for their contribution to contemporary Bulgarian literature to 9 Bulgarian artists - Todor Kostadinov, Kostadin Zlatkov, Borislav Gerontiev, Ekaterina Dancheva, Georgi Yanev, Katerina Kiryanova, Theo Bukovsky, Dimitar Shumnaliev, Stoika Marinovska.

Honorary diplomas for their work in support of contemporary Bulgarian literature were awarded to Tsenko Minkin - President of the Union of Bulgarian Composers, Kiril Valchev - Director General of BTA and Krasimir Martinov - Editor-in-Chief of Radio Bulgaria.

"On this day, let us wish each other greater awareness of the needs and importance of language and writers for the development of our society. And we will continue to make your work known to people in our country and around the world through the medium of radio" - emphasised Krasimir Martinov, expressing his gratitude for the high honour that the Union of Bulgarian Writers bestows on the team of Radio Bulgaria.
