Bulgaria’s entry in Schengen by air and sea will make travel easier for tourists, the country’s Minister of Tourism Zaritza Dinkova said for bTV. ''We have registered growth in the summer tourist season. Our focus is on Central European markets- for example the Polish, Hungarian and Czech markets. On the one hand, they are traditional. One the other hand, we have started to rediscover them’’. In Minister Dinkova’s words, Bulgarian tourists choose this country, and their number grew in summer 2023. ‘'The data for the winter season are good, too'’, Zaritza Dinkova went on to say.

According to Minister Dinkova, Bulgaria has exceeded the pre-pandemic levels and registered a 4.9% growth in December 2023 as compared to December 2022. ''Surprisingly, the number of Italian tourists visiting Bulgaria for a city or weekend trip has increased by 48% year-on- year. The number of Turkish guests has increased by 22%'’, Minister Dinova further said. In her words, the number of Bulgarian tourists visiting Greece is comparable to the number of Greek tourists visiting Bulgaria. Zaritsa Dinkova specified that Greek tourists are interested in winter and Spa resorts, which offer exceptional quality.
