On the third day of protests, agricultural producers organized more roadblocks on key national thoroughfares.
The people from the sector say they are against the Green Deal, the unregulated import of farming produce from Ukraine and third countries, and against the lack of any state support for agriculture. The protesters say they want more clarity and guarantees regarding their financial demands.
Around 100 grain and greenhouse vegetable producers blocked the approach to Trakia motorway in the region of Saraya village near Pazardzhik. They were joined by stock breeders who stated that they were one of the busiest sectors in agriculture which has suffered the greatest amount of damages, and that they are buried under heaps of red tape. The roadblock will remain in place until 2 PM; the police have organized alternate routes.
