During the rotation, the parliamentary group of GERB party will put forward another nomination for foreign minister to replace Mariya Gabriel, who will assume the post of prime minister, GERB leader Boyko Borissov told reporters in parliament.

He did not give a specific name that is being discussed, but stated that if the partners from the so-called non-coalition do not want Mariya Gabriel to double up as prime minister and foreign minister, then they will nominate another foreign minister. “This is the only option,” Boyko Borissov said. “If this option is rejected, I have conceded there shall be no rotation of ministers – to leave their ministers, their regional governors.”

"I don't want the post of foreign minister as such, but rather want the voice of We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria to be loud enough so as to be heard abroad'', Premier Nikolay Denkov said in The Hague, where he conferred with his counterpart Mark Rutte. He added that the We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria wished to continue the rotation as agreed. "We are starting with a legislative programme by the end of the year and we will prepare a governance programme by the end of the term of office, and we hope that it will be implemented", Premier Denkov added.
