Bulgarian weightlifters grab medals at the European Weightlifting Championships in Sofia

Gabriel Marinov won the gold, while Ivan Dimov grabbed the silver medal in the category of up to 61 kilograms at the European Weightlifting Championships in Sofia. Marinov’s result was a total of 281 kg after 121 kg in the Snatch and 160 kg in the Clean and Jerk. Dimov had one kilogram less (130+150), while Georgian Shota Mishvelidze took the bronze medal with a total of 272 kg.

On the second day of the European Weightlifting Championships, Angel Rusev also became champion, while Dzhan Zarkov placed third in the category of up to 55 kg. Rusev overcame shoulder pain to triumph for the fourth time on the Old Continent. Ramini Shamilishvili from Georgia remained second.
