Sofia and London will continue to provide support to Ukraine - financial, military, humanitarian and diplomatic, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel said at a joint press conference in Sofia with visiting British Foreign Secretary David Cameron. This support will continue as long as it is needed, Ms Gabriel pledged. Today it is important to ensure that the support is sustainable and predictable. "Regional stability is important to us, with a particular focus on the Black Sea. It is strategically important for NATO, for the UK and for Bulgaria," Gabriel added.

"Putin must see that he has made a mistake and that Bulgaria, like the UK and many other countries, is showing its solidarity," the visiting minister stressed. In a joint statement with Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov and Deputy Prime Minister Maria Gabriel, Cameron recalled that he had already visited Bulgaria as Prime Minister. He urged US legislators to approve a package of aid for Ukraine, saying “it’s a matter of global security.”

"The misinformation that Russia is spreading affects all countries. Migration is an issue being used to sway voters," Cameron added. We need to stand up to the organised criminal gangs that are trafficking people," he stressed.
