Polish tourists to the southern Black Sea coast were the first to pass through the new Schengen area at Burgas Airport

185 passengers arrived from Krakow and were greeted with a water salute and gifts, in addition to a relaxed passport procedure. Most were on their way to the resort of Sunny Beach and the town of Pomorie for their holidays.

Authorities at Sarafovo Airport in Burgas said they were expecting a good tourist season

The first charter flights will soon bring the first organised groups from Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland and the UK. Charter flights from Germany will also start arriving after May 15.

For the first time in the history of Burgas Airport, there will be charter flights from the Portuguese city of Porto. Another completely new market this summer is Kosovo. The first tourists from Pristina are expected at the beginning of June.
