Various fireworks, smoke bombs and even improvised explosive devices with remote control were found during police searches of the area around and in the Vasil Levski National Stadium before today's derby match Levski-CSKA Sofia.
At a briefing, the Ministry of the Interior admitted that they were surprised by the number of pyrotechnic devices found. It was found out that some of the security cameras at the National Stadium were turned off, which is why it is not possible to see how the fireworks were brought in, BNR reporter Dobromir Videv informed.
Hours before the start of the derby, fan groups of the two teams clashed in the center of Sofia, but the incident was contained by the uniformed officers.
