Outgoing Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov has filed a report to prosecutor Daniela Taleva, who has the authority to investigate the prosecutor general, about the pressure Sarafov exerted on the chief secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Zhivko Kotsev.

"Facts and circumstances that became known to the Prime Minister during the performance of his official duties give rise to reasonable doubts about the possible commission of a crime by acting chief prosecutor Borislav Sarafov", the press service of the government said.

According to information by Zhivko Kotsev, on April 3 this year he was psychologically pressured to resign from his position or he would have been charged with a serious crime and placed in custody. The pressure, according to him, was exerted by the acting prosecutor general with the participation of the administrative head of the Sofia City Prosecution, Iliyana Kirilova, and later the same day by the outgoing interior minister Kalin Stoyanov. Meanwhile, the home of Kotsev was searched.
