Over 190,000 tourists visited Bansko in the winter season

From the beginning of December to April 15, the Pirin resort of Bansko was visited by over 190,000 tourists from the country, from neighbouring Balkan countries, from Europe and the USA. The number of overnight stays during the season was over 656,000. Bulgarian tourists were 163,250 with over 101,000 overnight stays.
 
Over 20,000 Greek tourists have visited Bansko this winter, their overnight stays are 48,582. Tourists from Romania were nearly 18,000 and from the UK just over 18,000. Compared to the previous winter season, the number of tourists visiting Bansko is 35,000 more and the number of overnight stays 51,000 more. 

The chairman of the Union of Tourist Business - Bansko region Malin Bistrin describes the past season as good. 

"Our guests this year were traditionally from markets where we work well. The number of Israeli tourists this winter season was 9,000 with over 38,000 overnight stays. The previous season there were about 19,000 and 85,639", Bistrin stressed. 

He added to BTA that because of the rich cultural program they expect a good season in the summer and the resort is currently being presented at a tourist forum in the Kosovo capital Pristina.
