Farmers' festival draws visitors to Rhodope village of Momchilovtsi

At the foot of the forest park of Momchilgrad in the Rhodope Mountains the second edition of Farmfest "Momchilgrad" is taking place. The Farmer's Festival offers visitors delicious Rhodope dishes, an introduction to local animals and breeds, craft demonstrations and a rich musical programme.


As soon as visitors enter the festival area, they are lured by the aroma of 50 Rhodope "cheverme". Everyone can taste delicious lamb on a spit and learn the intricacies of preparing this delicacy in person from the master chefs.


Visitors to the Farmfest can also see typical breeds of animals from the Eastern Rhodopes, such as the Rhodope tsigai, the short-horned Rhodope cattle, Bulgarian brown cattle and others. The breeders are ready to introduce them to the peculiarities of breeding indigenous breeds.
