PP-DB do not see chance for a cabinet within this parliament

PP-DB have doubted the possibility of the 50th National Assembly to produce a government. At a briefing on the sidelines of the parliament, the co-chairman of the coalition Asen Vassilev rejected the possibility of "returning the gesture to GERB-SDS because of the failed rotation" within the previous regular cabinet and recalled that it is the responsibility of the winner of the elections (GERB-DPS) to ensure a majority .

"The role of the winner of the elections is to secure a majority for the cabinet. If the winner of the elections tries to secure this majority through some kind of agreements and other emotional approaches, we have already seen five times that this cannot happen," Vasilev said. In response to criticism by GERB leader Boyko Borissov that the lack of stable government is delaying Bulgaria's membership in the eurozone, the PP-DB co-chairman stated that we have never been closer to the euro area. According to Vassilev, who is a former finance minister, the date of July 1, 2025 is completely realistic for this.

On Wednesday, the European Commission and the ECB announced that Bulgaria was not ready yet for the euro due to the rate of inflation
