Jazz under the stars fills Devetashko plateau with music this weekend

The 10th Jazz Under the Stars festival on the Devetashko Plateau begins tonight in the village of Karpachevo in the Lovech region. It will run until Sunday. Popular Bulgarian musicians will perform on the open-air stage in the meadow near the "Garvanitsa" cave, between the villages of Karpachevo and Gorsko Slivovo, said Iva Taralezhkova, chairwoman of the "Devetashko Plateau" association.

The free event aims to promote, enliven and enrich the cultural life of 9 villages in the municipalities of Lovech, Letnitsa and Sevlievo in the northern Bulgarian pre-Balkan. The first evening of the festival in the village of Karpachevo will feature the trio "JaZZta-Prasta", playing jazz inspired by the music of various ethnic groups. There are also musicians from Spain and Scotland on the programme. On Sunday morning there is a traditional jazz concert for children.
