Delyan Peevski: Peevski-Dogan relations not on the agenda

"There is no, and cannot be, any opposition between Dogan and me," DPS Co-Chairman Delyan Peevski stated in a release from the party's press center. He added, however, that there was an opposition and a conflict: "The conflict is Peevski versus the fat cats—those who got rich off Dogan's back."

Tensions in the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) arose after some of its MPs supported the GERB-SDS draft cabinet despite a call by DPS founder and honorary leader Ahmed Dogan to vote against it. Subsequently, DPS co-leader Delyan Peevski admitted that there had been such a request from Dogan, but pointed out that he would respect the wishes of the electorate. Yesterday, the honorary leader gathered the MPs who supported him at his summer residence "Rosenets".
In his statement, Delyan Peevski pointed out that he had always been with Ahmed Dogan and addressed Dogan: "You have always been able to count on me, and this has not changed".
"Dogan is the founder and honorary chair of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms and no one in the party has questioned this for a moment and I would not allow anyone to question it," he stressed. According to him, the question of whether Dogan and Peevski are not together is not on the agenda.
Delyan Peevski points out that no one can deny what he has done for the DPS after a long period of stagnation. "And if it is my fault that I brought the party out of isolation and gave hope to our people, I am ready to bear this guilt," he says.

"I will give young people and renewal a chance, because we have proved that we can be strong," says Delyan Peevski.
