The Clean Life Foundation is today launching a four-week therapy programme for children who have tried opiates, combining therapeutic sessions with recreational activities.

The NGO is running an information campaign for parents whose teenagers aged 14-18 are addicted to drugs. They can call the free hotline 0884 726 314 for advice on how to help their children.

"We decided to focus on parents of teenagers so that they understand that many of the symptoms a child begins to exhibit, the first of which is impaired communication with loved ones, are a reason to seek help from psychologists," said Svetlana Yordanova, the foundation's director.

She added that recently parents of 9-10 year old children addicted to nitrous oxide (laughing gas) have sought help.
