Our country is at real risk of losing funds under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Iliana Ivanova said for bTV. In her words, the political situation in the country does not have a good effect on Bulgaria's positions in Europe, as evidenced by the delayed payments under the Recovery and Resilience Plan and the process of joining the Eurozone.

''So far, only one payment has been made under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, which happened at the end of 2022. We should be around the fourth payment now, but we haven't even received the second one yet", emphasized Commissioner Ivanova.

According to Iliana Ivanova, Bulgaria can partially catch up, but there is a fixed deadline - August 2026. She explained that the country will lose the funding if it does not take the necessary actions.
