362 Bulgarian winemakers export wine to 57 countries

Bulgaria ranks 10th in Europe, and 25th in the world in wine production, Sophie Pallas, director of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) said in Burgas. She was among the official guests to the 20th edition of Wine and Spirits Fest Burgas. The event, organized by Expo Team, brought together more than 40 Bulgarian and foreign producers.

“There are 60,000 hectares of vineyards, and 362 wine producers, and their number is constantly growing,” said Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Assoc. Prof. Deyan Stratev at the opening of the festival. Bulgaria exports wine to 57 countries, exports being highest to Western and Central Europe, he said further. Bulgarian wines also sell in countries like China and Japan.
