A 7% rise in the number of tourists coming to Sofia has been registered during the first quarter of 2024. On a yearly basis, there is an increase of 15% for 2023, which exceeds even pre-pandemic levels. These optimistic data motivated the city’s administration to launch a new bus line, as of 3 August 2024, specifically for sightseeing in Sofia.

Line 200 will function during weekends until 15 September, with double-decker buses running along the route. The bus will run along Sofia’s major boulevards, starting and ending in Oborishte street next to Saint Alexander Nevski square. The sightseeing buses will have stops along the way as they cruise the central streets of the capital city – Alexander I Sq., the Central Sofia Market Hall (Tsentralni Hali), Lions’ Bridge Sq. (Luvov Most), Sveta Nedelya Sq., Hristo Botev Blvd., Alexander Stamboliiski Blvd., Ruski Pamentik Sq., Vitosha Blvd., Hotel Hilton, 6 September St., Odeon Cinema and back to St. Alexander Nevski Sq.
