The joint exhibition "Dialogue" by Kancho Kanev, Valeri Lazarov and Choi Ji-Yun (Korea) is being showcased at the Ruse Art Gallery.
''The world is in vital need of dialogue and tolerance. In this tense international environment, people need a common cause, melting the barriers of coldness and division. Let us give Hope a chance, finding its path in future generations!" explains Kancho Kanev. ''In the paintings, viewers will see various methods of interpretation, as well as different techniques and perceptions. It will be a spontaneous and sought-after dialogue between artists, collectors, organizers and the public", says the Bulgarian artist.
Kancho Kanev and his colleague Valeri Lazarov first met in 1973 when they applied to the wood carving class at the Yosif Vondrak Vocational High School of Woodworking and Interior Architecture in Ruse. In the last two years, they have organized several joint exhibitions, said BTA.
"We had a premonition that it would be exciting to combine our shared views on everything that inspires us with Choi Ji-Yun", writes Kancho Kanev in the invitation. Kancho Kanev notes that Choi Ji-Yun is 33 years old and was born in Seoul, South Korea. She enjoys painting while traveling the world. "It was a great pleasure for me to paint together in The Hague. Choi spends most of her time in South Korea and New York. Lately she has been quite impressed by the contemporary art scene in Bulgaria."
The exhibition draws attention to sites marked by destruction in Bulgaria using sculpture, installation, sound and film. It will open on 1 August at the venue of the Swimming Pool project in the capital, organizers said. "Ecologies of Prehod" (meaning..
